A Global Data Network for XENON

MANIAC Lab operates the Rucio global data management service for the XENON dark matter experiment at the Gran Sasso National Laboratory in Italy. Rucio catalogs XENONnT data and replicates it among storage endpoints in Europe and the United States, so that collaborators can process and analyze it wherever their computing lives.

We work with the UChicago XENON group and the collaboration’s computing team on storage endpoints, transfer monitoring and access to the data from analysis systems, including the Research Computing Center at the University of Chicago.

Computing for the South Pole Telescope

Since 2016 MANIAC Lab has built and run computing for the South Pole Telescope at the Pole and in Chicago, from the SPT-3G online system Judith Stephen deployed on site to the analysis servers, storage and SPT Connect access point the collaboration uses today.
